What you will do

1. Collaborate closely with your engineering peers and product managers to ensure work is clear, prioritized correctly, and delivered successfully;
2. Maintain and enhance existing features in our React Native and Swift (iOS) applications;
3. Debug and resolve complex issues across different platforms;
4. Strategize with stakeholders to provide technical input around the Vox Media mobile roadmap;
5. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code;
6. Conduct unit and integration testing to ensure code quality;
7. Identify and implement improvements to our mobile CI/CD pipelines;
8. Strategize a future direction for mobile development, including developing app templates and standardized tools;
9. Support the development of new mobile apps from the ground up.

Must haves

1. Minimum 6+ years of experience in mobile application development;
2. Proven experience working with React Native and/or Swift (iOS);
3. Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle;
4. Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills;
5. Experience with unit and integration testing methodologies;
6. Effective communication and collaboration skills;
7. Programming Languages & Tools: React Native, Swift (iOS), Git/Github version control, CI/CD, CodeMagic, Expo, Android Play Store, Testflight (used for managing test apps and deployments), and Amplitude (used for analytics);

Nice to haves

1. Experience with other mobile frameworks (e.g., Flutter, Kotlin);
2. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud Platform).
