About Worldwide Research And Development

Our WWRD engine spans research, discovery, and clinical development, supporting the creation of first-in-class and best-in-class therapeutics for genetic diseases.

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) role involves supporting BioMarin's scientific and business interests by engaging with thought leaders and healthcare institutions through educational activities, investigator-sponsored trials, and scientific discussions.

The MSL must have in-depth knowledge of BioMarin’s Achondroplasia product (Voxzogo), pipeline agents, and related disease areas. The role requires independent coordination of initiatives and collaboration with internal teams, reporting to Medical Affairs and working closely with Commercial and Clinical teams.

• Develop and implement scientific plans to meet company goals within regulatory guidelines for marketed and pipeline products.
• Assess research sites for their ability to conduct clinical studies and registries.
• Visit infusion sites to enhance understanding of disease management and product use.
• Maintain expertise in therapeutic areas by reviewing scientific literature and attending relevant meetings.
• Deliver scientific presentations to healthcare professionals and institutions.
• Support commercial activities by representing BioMarin at scientific events.
• Identify and recommend speakers for BioMarin’s Speaker’s Bureau and Advisory Boards.
• Collaborate on market intelligence and publication plans.
• Provide clinical education to internal teams.
• Monitor emerging clinical and competitive trends.
• Ensure compliance with operational guidelines.
• Facilitate investigator-sponsored studies to generate additional data.
• Support pharmacovigilance activities as trained.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Medicine, Genetics, Orthopedics, or related fields.
• Intermediate or advanced English proficiency.
• 3+ years of clinical experience (preferred).
• 1+ years of pharmaceutical experience (preferred).
• Willingness to travel 50-75% within the territory.
• Experience in public presentations.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
• Experience in biotech, pharma, or CRO industries is a plus.
