Manager, Procurement Commodities and Ingredients

Ensure the strategic and cost-effective procurement of agricultural commodities and food ingredients that meet quality and sustainability standards, supporting the continued production and innovation of consumer goods of the company. Contribute directly to the company’s supply chain efficiency, product competitiveness, and long-term value creation through strong supplier relationships, market intelligence, and risk management.

Responsibilities

This role is responsible for leading the sourcing of over $25 million Forno de Minas commodities and ingredient spend and improving the synergies between McCain Brazil Subsidiaries. This person supports and develops category strategies, leads contract negotiations, and manages supplier relationship development including the key performance indicators of category versus expectations.

Job Profile

Education: Agricultural Science, Agribusiness, Engineering, or related areas.

Experience: Must have a minimum of 5-7 years procurement experience in food industry commodities and ingredients.

Knowledge and specific abilities:

• Knowledge of food business and commodity market dynamics.
• Deep understanding of agricultural commodities and food-grade ingredients markets.
• Strategic sourcing and category management expertise.
• Strong analytical skills for cost analysis, market trends, and risk management.
• Fluent in English.

Professional Obligations:

The person will manage multiple internal and external organizational relationships. They will lead the overall supplier relationship strategy for the spend area, ensuring proper commercial treatment of suppliers by reinforcing policy, ethics, and our strategic approach with suppliers and with other company departments. The person needs to act like an owner with integrity and fairness in all procurement relationships and development business activities.

Professional Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers of agricultural commodities and food ingredients;
• Prepare the business award recommendations: submit the strategy of purchasing recommendation with key commercial terms, risks, and opportunities;
• Lead the SCA Program of Category;
• Monitor market trends and commodity price fluctuations together with McCain's global commodities team;
• Responsible for category financial planning, budget, and MVA management;
• Build supplier relationships for the relative markets to deliver value to the company;
• Build strong and effective relationships with McCain cross-functional teams to deliver initiatives and savings;
• Collaborate with R&D, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure ingredient specifications are met;
• Manage supplier performance, including delivery, quality, and compliance with sustainability and food safety standards.
