• Experience in calibration tooling such as INCA and Calterm.
• Experience in Homologation process.
• Experience in simulations and data analysis tools (GT Power, CAMEO, Matlab).
• Field and durability tests evaluations.

• Define the balance between cost, emissions, fuel consumption, and engine reliability via simulations and 1D calculations.
• Execute DoE-based experimental development with proper test bench setup respecting regulatory standards.

• Ensure production robustness by considering part-to-part variation and COP testing.

Job Summary

The Engineering Manager – Design & Calibration is responsible for leading the combustion design & Performance of internal combustion engines and aftertreatment systems calibrations into agricultural machinery, including tractors and related off-highway products. This role ensures engine to meet performance, emissions, durability, cost, manufacturability, and serviceability requirements while complying with global regulatory standards. The position provides technical and people leadership to multidisciplinary engineering teams and works cross-functionally with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Supplier Engineering, and global powertrain partners to deliver robust and competitive solutions across multiple platforms and regions. He leads both hardware design and software calibration, ensuring physical components are harmonized with the engine's control strategies. Given that this individual has the final say on architectural trade-offs and emissions compliance, leaving this position vacant poses a significant risk to our reliability benchmarks and strategic sustainability goals.

Project & Program Management

Plan and execute engine installation deliverables for NPI, carry-over, and cost optimization programs. Manage engineering scope, timing, resources, and budget in alignment with program milestones and phase-gate requirements. To coordinate prototype builds, reliability testing, and to support issue resolution, ensuring timely closure of technical gaps. Support industrialization and production readiness activities in close collaboration with Manufacturing and Supplier Quality, is the person with ultimate technical responsibility over the product, he makes final decisions on architectural trade-offs and emissions compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop combustion systems for diesel and Otto engines (mechanical and electronic injection), including HW screening, injector/chamber design, turbocharger matching, EGR, fuel systems, and aftertreatment concepts.
• Define the optimal balance between cost, emissions compliance, fuel consumption, and engine reliability through simulations and early 1D calculations.
• Execute experimental development using DoE methodologies, ensuring proper test bench setup and compliance with MAR-1, MAR-2, Tier 4 interim, Stage 5, and other regulations.
• Perform engine mapping and calibration optimization using advanced data analysis tools, supporting homologation activities and preparing required documentation.
• Ensure production robustness by considering part-to-part variation, validating emissions durability (deterioration factors), and supporting COP (Conformity of Production) testing.

Experience And Qualifications

• Bachelor in Mechanical, Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering
• Fluent English.
• Experience in diesel engine combustion and spark ignition engines (gas and ethanol), aftertreatment hardware definition and calibration;
• Experience on bench test configurations and operations, for Off road Brazilian and international legislations.
• Experience in calibration tooling as INCA and Calterm;
• Experience on Homologation process;
• Experience on simulations and data analysis tools (GT Power, CAMEO, Matlab, etc)
• Field and durability tests evaluations.
