The Aviation Security and Regulatory Compliance (AvSec) team is seeking an enthusiastic, customer-obsessed AvSec Manager to provide leadership, support and oversight of in-house screening operations in Brazil.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and establishing risk-based security standards and ensuring compliance with federal regulations, corporate policies, and standardized processes where applicable. You are a strong leader who embraces our core values and is excited about an opportunity to influence and support the Amazon Air network. This key role will support the Amazon Air operation programs with understanding, implementing, and validation of security requirements, to ensure employees, third-party vendors, and our assets are secure

You will ensure that the organization is prepared to properly respond to various security related threats, emergencies and escalations.
You must have a demonstrated ability to utilize their security expertise and management strength to challenge conventional wisdom, think strategically, deliver results and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities will also include strategic engagement with the Amazon Air Gateway Operations Leadership team, 3P Security Directors and Air Carrier Security Directors during event and incident management, and data driven decision making based on the Security Management System (SeMS) Quality Assurance data.

This position will support customer in the East and West Coast of the United States, Hawaii and Alaska.



Key job responsibilities
- Anticipate customer needs by tactically understanding their business, areas of opportunity and concern, and developing scalable strategic solution
- Develop weekly and quarterly business reviews to provide our customers a clear line of sight into the teams focus of attention, network trends, initiatives and deliverables
- Collaborate with internal customers to develop security solutions to address evolving operational processes with a focus on identifying solutions that facilitate business objectives
- Oversight and support the development and presentation of SeMS data, metrics and KPIs to internal and external customers and stakeholders
- Manage information from various reporting tools to determine and manage risks
- Liaise with local and federal regulatory agencies in support of our customers and stakeholders, both internal and external
- Regularly meet with 3P Security and Air Carrier Leadership to discuss projects, initiatives, trending data and areas of opportunity
- The candidate will hire & develop the right workforce strategy to meet long-term goals while supporting Amazon’s culture of Diversity and Inclusivity
- Participate in the onboarding and knowledge transfer of regulatory requirements with internal and external customers and stakeholders
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert to support incidents, events and regulatory infractions while providing guidance to Amazon Air Operations teams.
- Review security practices and procedures to ensure that they are in line with regulatory compliance
- Support the investigation of regulatory violations and utilizing the Security Management System to identify root cause. Developing mitigating actions to reduce risk
- Establish and maintain relationships with aviation and security stakeholders within your region, as well as local Federal Law Enforcement and Local Municipal Law Enforcement

About the team
The Aviation Security and Regulatory Compliance (AvSec) team is responsible for security, loss prevention, and regulatory compliance at Amazon. The organization is built with four core pillars; Security Management Systems, Programs and Quality Assurance, Security Operations, and Credentialing. The Team is committed to identifying and mitigating risk to people, Amazon assets, Amazon brand and regulatory compliance. The foundation of the organization and the risk mitigation and continuous improvement programs, are built on the principles of a robust Security Management Systems (SeMS).- Bachelor degree in one or of the following disciplines; aviation security, aviation regulatory or transportation/supply chain operations; corporate security management;
- Ability to secure appropriate airport authority and/or Customs security badges, if applicable;
- Effective communications, influence and negotiate priorities, determines where to simplify or extend solutions for the best outcome, and drives Kaizens and other best practices
- Ability to work flexible hours to meet business needs;
-- Certification(s) in Security Operations;
- Aviation security experience;
- Aviation Regulatory Security Compliance experience, specifically with TSA or US Customs;
- Strong leadership skills and knowledge; ability to influence change and drive desired outcomes in a matrix structured organization;
- Ability to independently manage through ambiguity and handle changing priorities, to effectively prioritize, multitask, and exercise good judgment; (CPP, PSP or CFE certification);
- Experience with physical security control and/or surveillance systems;
- Lean Six Sigma and/or Green/Black Belt Certified, Interviewing and Interrogation experience desired, Workplace investigation certification (Wicklander-Zulawski certification)
- Workplace Violence and/or Business Continuity experience;
