Metals and Additives LLC is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Mechanic I to support maintenance operations across the plant. You will perform preventative maintenance tasks, assist senior mechanics, and help keep equipment clean and safe while developing hands-on industrial skills.

In this role you’ll learn to grease, oil, inspect equipment, and follow safety procedures in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn industrial maintenance.
• Basic understanding of hand tools and mechanical equipment.
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely in an industrial environment.
• Strong attendance and reliability required.

Responsabilités

• Perform routine greasing and lubrication of plant equipment and machinery.
• Assist maintenance mechanics with equipment repairs and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Help with changing filters, belts, hoses, bearings, and other basic mechanical components.
• Maintain proper oil levels and lubrication schedules on production equipment.
• Clean and organize maintenance shop areas, tools, and equipment.
• Assist in equipment inspections and identify potential mechanical issues.
• Safely operate basic hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Follow all company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and housekeeping standards.
• Complete maintenance documentation and checklists as required.
• Assist with moving parts, materials, and tools throughout the facility.
• Work collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams.

The Maintenance Mechanic I will work closely with senior mechanics and maintenance personnel to develop mechanical skills and gain hands‑on industrial maintenance experience.

Shift Differential

2nd Shift: Additional $0.50 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift throughout the shift.


• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.


• Ability to work in hot, dusty, noisy, and industrial environments.


• Ability to wear required PPE includes safety glasses, half face respirator, hearing protection, and steeltoe boots.

Work Environment

• Industrial manufacturing and production environment.


• Exposure to moving mechanical equipment, dust, heat, and varying temperatures.


• Overtime and weekend work may be required based on production and maintenance needs.

Preferred Skills

• Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.


• Familiarity with industrial lubrication practices.


• Forklift or scissor lift experience is a plus.


• Willingness to learn preventative and predictive maintenance practices.
