Metals and Additives LLC is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I to support preventative maintenance across the plant. The role involves greasing, lubricating equipment, assisting senior mechanics, and keeping work areas clean and safe to help ensure consistent production uptime.

You will learn industrial maintenance hands-on, follow lockout/tagout and safety policies, complete inspection checklists, and collaborate with operations teams to keep equipment running reliably.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn industrial maintenance.
• Basic understanding of hand tools and mechanical equipment.
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely in an industrial environment.
• Strong attendance and reliability required.
• Previous manufacturing or industrial experience preferred but not required.

Responsabilités

• Perform routine greasing and lubrication of plant equipment.
• Assist maintenance mechanics with repairs and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Help with changing filters, belts, hoses, bearings, and other basic mechanical components.
• Maintain proper oil levels and lubrication schedules on production equipment.
• Clean and organize maintenance shop areas, tools, and equipment.
• Assist in equipment inspections and identify potential mechanical issues.
• Safely operate basic hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
• Follow all company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and housekeeping standards.
• Complete maintenance documentation and checklists as required.
• Assist with moving parts, materials, and tools throughout the facility.
• Work collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams.

Position Summary

Maintenance Mechanic I is an entry-level maintenance position responsible for supporting maintenance operations throughout the plant. This role focuses on preventative maintenance activities such as greasing, oiling, cleaning equipment, assisting mechanics with repairs, and maintaining safe and organized work areas. The Maintenance Mechanic I will work closely with senior mechanics and maintenance personnel to develop mechanical skills and gain hands‑on industrial maintenance experience.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to wear required PPE includes safety glasses, half face respirator, hearing protection, and steeltoe boots.

Work Environment

• Industrial manufacturing and production environment.
• Exposure to moving mechanical equipment, dust, heat, and varying temperatures.
• Overtime and weekend work may be required based on production and maintenance needs.

Preferred Skills

• Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with industrial lubrication practices.
• Forklift or scissor lift experience is a plus.
• Willingness to learn preventative and predictive maintenance practices.
