Lead Software Engineer

Firstbase.io is on a mission to build an “All-In-One Company OS” to enable global founders to launch, operate, and grow their businesses using Firstbase’s suite of products.

As our Lead Software Engineer, you will work in tandem with the Product Managers, Engineers, and Designers to shape the future of Firstbase’s products. You’ll thrive in this role if you have experience building relationships with and influencing cross-functional team members, delivering high-quality projects on time, and analyzing data to produce actionable recommendations.

Top candidates for this position are technically credible and know the details of what engineers work on, their time is spent safeguarding their team’s health, hiring a world-class team, and putting them in the best position to succeed. They own the delivery of product commitments and are always looking to improve productivity. They must also coordinate across departments to accomplish collaborative goals.

You will have the following duties

• Architect & Develop: Create scalable, cloud-based solutions with Golang, ensuring the systems are robust, efficient, and optimized for performance.

• Technical Leadership: Lead technical direction and manage the team, ensuring best practices and successful outcomes.

• Project Ownership: Oversee project delivery, resolve blockers, and meet deadlines.

• Client Collaboration: Translate business requirements into technical solutions, working closely with clients.

• Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular updates for transparency and informed decision-making.

• Mentorship: Guide team members in best practices, design patterns, and technical solutions.

• Team Leadership: Manage and grow engineering teams through the full development lifecycle.

• Complex Systems: Work with Cloud/SaaS and On-Prem solutions within microservices architecture.

• Agile Practices: Apply agile methods to optimize execution and delivery.

• Technical Expertise: Balance high-level concepts with detailed implementation across front-end and back-end technologies.

You should meet the following requirements

• Experience leading software development teams

• BSc in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent

• You are skilled in one or more programming languages, such as Go, PHP, Python or Nodejs, etc., with an in-depth knowledge of Golang being a valuable plus

• Startup experience, building production systems from an early stage

• Experience working on products sold to enterprise customers

• Familiarity with concepts of IT environments and complex integrations

• Hands-on experience with modern Frontend and Backend technologies

• Experience working on products involving integrations with third party API's

• Experience dealing with time series data
