Lead Software Engineer

The Services global product team is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to accelerate the development of Payments AI solutions within the Data, Analytics, and AI product suite. The goal of the Payments AI Solutions team is to build AI products that drive Smarter Decisions and Better Outcomes for customers, applying AI responsibly, and leveraging in-house and 3rd party assets and capabilities effectively to maximize ROI for the program.

Engineers work in small, flexible teams. Every team member contributes to designing, building, and testing features. The range of work varies from building intuitive, responsive UIs to designing backend data models, architecting data flows, and beyond. There are no rigid organizational structures, and each team uses processes that work best for its members and projects.

Position Responsibilities:

• Lead strategic technical direction for applications, architectures, and development processes.
• Lead and push the boundaries of analytics and scalable applications.
• Act as a key contributor to product implementation while empowering your team.
• Build and maintain analytics and data models for performant and scalable products.
• Champion innovation by exploring and adopting new technologies and methodologies.
• Lead with an agile mindset, adapting to changes quickly and guiding your team to pivot when needed.
• Coach, mentor, and develop a cross-functional engineering team to deliver high-quality solutions and well-tested code.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Collaborate across teams and business units to solve complex technical problems and ensure alignment.
• Partner with Product Managers and Customer Experience Designers to define roadmaps, scope features, and plan releases.
• Ensure projects meet customer demands while scaling platform solutions for future growth.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

• 10+ years of engineering experience in an agile production environment.
• Experience leading the design and implementation of complex features in full-stack applications.
• Proficiency with object-oriented languages, preferably Java/Spring, or C#.
• Proficiency with modern front-end frameworks, preferably React with Redux, Typescript.
• Fluent in the use of Git, Jenkins.
• Solid experience with RESTful APIs and JSON/SOAP based API.
• Solid experience with SQL, Multi-threading, Message Queuing.
• Hands-on experience with Python or Scala is preferred, as well as expertise in Hadoop platforms and related tools.
• Experience in building and deploying production-level data-driven applications and data processing workflows/pipelines, and/or implementing machine learning systems at scale in Java, Scala, or Python, delivering analytics involving all phases.
• Data engineering or data science background with a strong understanding of data pipelines, architecture, infrastructure, and management.

Desirable Capabilities:

• Hands-on experience of cloud-native development using microservices.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka, Zookeeper.
• Knowledge of enterprise application security protocols and concepts.
• Expertise with automated E2E and unit testing frameworks.
• Knowledge of Splunk or other alerting and monitoring solutions.
