As a Lead Roblox Engineer, you will
- Lead other programmers, providing effective technical feedback and moderating discussions
- Collaborate with professionals in design, art, UI/UX, QA, audio, and technical art
- Work with external development partners
- Develop high-performance, robust, and sustainable game systems and mechanics
- Translate requirements into maintainable, portable, high-performance code
- Develop new features for the game and engine
- Research and introduce new technologies
- Maintain code, fix bugs, and resolve issues
- Follow processes set by the producer and project manager, proposing improvements
- Adhere to coding standards and practices
- Implement QA processes such as code reviews and unit testing
- Prioritize requirements from a technical perspective
- Create technical documentation
- Provide regular status updates to management and QA
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with C++, C#, and/or LUA
- Advanced English skills
- Experience with Unreal and/or Unity engines
- Proficiency with version control tools like Git, SVN, or Perforce
- Knowledge in game programming specialties (AI, rendering, physics, multiplayer, etc.)
- Willingness to learn Roblox Experience and Fortnite Creative
- Good debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Up-to-date with technical trends and gaming technologies
- Problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of software design patterns
- Self-confidence and conflict resolution skills
- Understanding of game production from multiple discipline perspectives
