What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Lead intake processes for referred Persons Served, ensuring a welcoming and engaging experience
- Provide support, education, and advocacy during service transitions for individuals facing life challenges
- Facilitate connections between Persons Served and other Team Peer Specialists for ongoing support
- Maintain engagement with Persons Served who may struggle with initial or sustained participation in services
- Share personal recovery experiences to foster trust and encourage active involvement in services
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or Associate's degree; experience may substitute for academic training
- 1 to 3 years of experience providing peer support to individuals with psychiatric disabilities and/or co-occurring disorders
- Must be well along in personal recovery and demonstrate self-knowledge and habits necessary for health support
- Access to an operational and insured vehicle; willingness to transport Persons Served is preferred
- Must pass a CORI, driving record, reference, educational and professional licensure checks, and be CPR/First Aid certified within 2 weeks of employment
