The Canonical Kernel Team seeks talented experts and industry veterans with a proven track record in operating systems kernel development or low-level system engineering to lead architecture, implementation, and delivery of aspects of the Ubuntu Linux kernel, including but not limited to:
While not a formal managerial role, the candidate should possess strong leadership and people skills to guide engineers and coordinate with external teams.
We seek individuals with deep technical expertise in operating system kernels and distributions, and a proactive leadership attitude. Although experience length is flexible, we look for candidates with the demonstrated technical equivalent of 15+ years of industry experience.
Location: Remote roles available in every timezone, with some responsibilities region-specific.
