ADP SBS division is hiring a Lead Frontend Developer.
In this role, you will be building the RUN product, one of the most important Human Capital Management solutions at ADP and in the world. The goal is to help our customers (Small Business Companies) save time and stay compliant providing them tooling to manage their employees. You will work within a scrum team to bring the designs and ideas to life for new web applications integrated with backend microservices, APIs and other systems.
You will start your day on a scrum call to sync up the sprint work and goal with your team. You will spend most of your day designing, developing and testing your code and supporting your team members. You will be able to deploy your code in production using automated continuous integration and continuous deployment.
You will work with product managers, analysts, architects, and engineers to plan, design, develop, test, and implement information technology solutions.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Here's what you can expect on a typical day:
We'll start each day with a scrum, working together to understand responsibilities, ID any issues, and communicate coding priorities.
Working in two-week sprints, you must keep up with timelines and good coding standards. Your primary responsibility is to deliver features on time.
We don't code in a silo. You'll talk to everyone from the project manager to Quality Assurance and current customers to understand requirements and create a collaborative output.
We're always learning new codes and investigating open source communities. Knowing what questions to ask is more important than knowing the right answers.
TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:
Drive and be a reference to develop frontend and backend applications.
Technically guide the team to deliver optimal/frictionless client experiences.
Know best practices around software development, SDLC, unit testing, performance tuning, both on code and database level, and be able to share this knowledge with others in the team.
Be a strong influence both technically and mindset-wise.
Experience using CI and CD pipelines.
Technical Analysis – analyzing systems, problems, programs, formulating solutions.
Technical Design – ensuring that all work undertaken is of sound design and fits in with the existing architecture.
Participate in requirements gathering and reviews, assess technical feasibility, assist in defining solutions, and prepare development artifacts where required.
Write technical tasks to be taken by team members.
Conduct code walkthroughs and reviews with team members.
Communicate progress and issues to manager in a timely fashion.
Monitor changes in technology; remain up-to-date on current industry trends and internal architecture practices, principles, models and standards; train technical staff on new technologies.
Partner with PM / UX to identify user research opportunities.
