Introduction

As a Data Scientist at IBM, you will work to solve business problems using leading-edge and open-source tools such as Python, R, and TensorFlow, combined with IBM tools and our AI application suites. Your responsibilities include preparing, analyzing, and understanding data to deliver insights, predict emerging trends, and provide recommendations to stakeholders. Key tasks may involve:

• Implementing and validating predictive and prescriptive models, creating and maintaining statistical models with a focus on big data, and incorporating machine learning techniques into your projects.
• Writing programs to cleanse and integrate data efficiently and in a reusable manner.
• Working in an Agile, collaborative environment, partnering with other scientists, engineers, consultants, and database administrators to bring analytical rigor and statistical methods to predict behaviors.
• Communicating with internal and external clients to understand and define business needs, selecting appropriate modeling techniques to provide analytical solutions.
• Evaluating modeling results and communicating findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Your role and responsibilities

Leading the strategy and implementation of AIOps solutions and automation, ensuring integration with corporate systems and promoting continuous operational improvements.

• Designing and managing automation pipelines utilizing artificial intelligence and machine learning for monitoring, predictive analysis, and proactive problem resolution.
• Establishing and leading end-to-end automation initiatives to reduce manual tasks, increase efficiency, and enhance system and process reliability.

Required technical and professional expertise

Developing and implementing AIOps frameworks based on tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Datadog, Splunk, or similar platforms.

• Defining KPIs and SLAs to measure the effectiveness of AIOps and automation solutions, with continuous adjustments to maximize benefits.
• Collaborating with DevOps, SRE, and Operations teams to ensure seamless integration of automation and AIOps solutions.
• Providing technical and strategic leadership to multidisciplinary teams, fostering adoption of modern automation and operational intelligence practices.
• Exploring and integrating emerging technologies related to AIOps, AI, and machine learning to keep organizational processes innovative.
• Having solid experience with AIOps tools such as Moogsoft, BigPanda, Splunk AIOps, Datadog, or equivalents.
• Possessing advanced knowledge of AI/ML applications in AIOps, including supervised and unsupervised learning techniques.
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Go, or JavaScript for automation and AI.
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Chef.
• Deep understanding of observability practices, including metrics, logs, and traces monitoring.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their native automation and AIOps services.
• Experience integrating AIOps with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Ability to prioritize demands and make informed decisions.
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex technical data into actionable insights.
• Vision for innovation and proactive implementation of improvements.
• Experience in automation, AIOps, or related areas, including technical leadership.
