Introduction

As a Data Scientist at IBM, you will work to solve business problems using leading-edge and open-source tools such as Python, R, and TensorFlow, combined with IBM tools and our AI application suites. You will prepare, analyze, and understand data to deliver insights, predict emerging trends, and provide recommendations to stakeholders. Your responsibilities may include:

1. Implementing and validating predictive and prescriptive models, creating and maintaining statistical models with a focus on big data, and incorporating machine learning techniques into your projects.
2. Writing programs to cleanse and integrate data efficiently and in a reusable manner.
3. Working in an Agile, collaborative environment, partnering with scientists, engineers, consultants, and database administrators to bring analytical rigor and statistical methods to predicting behaviors.
4. Communicating with clients to understand business needs and defining appropriate modelling techniques to deliver analytical solutions.
5. Evaluating modelling results and effectively communicating findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Your role and responsibilities

Leading the strategy and implementation of AIOps solutions and automation, ensuring integration with corporate systems and promoting continuous operational improvements. Designing and managing automation pipelines utilizing AI and machine learning for monitoring, predictive analysis, and proactive problem resolution. Establishing end-to-end automation initiatives to reduce manual tasks, increase efficiency, and enhance system and process reliability.

Required technical and professional expertise

Developing and implementing frameworks based on tools like Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Datadog, Splunk, or similar. Defining KPIs and SLAs to measure effectiveness, collaborating with DevOps, SRE, and Operations teams for seamless integration, leading multidisciplinary teams, and exploring emerging AIOps, AI, and machine learning technologies. Demonstrating solid experience with AIOps platforms such as Moogsoft, BigPanda, Splunk AIOps, Datadog, or equivalents. Possessing advanced knowledge of AI/ML applications in AIOps, including supervised and unsupervised techniques. Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Go, or JavaScript. Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Chef. Strong understanding of observability practices, cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), and integration of AIOps with CI/CD pipelines. Leadership skills to influence and engage technical and business teams.

Preferred technical and professional experience

Prioritizing demands and decision-making skills. Excellent communication skills to translate complex technical data into actionable insights. A proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement. Experience in automation, AIOps, or related fields, including technical leadership.
