Laborer/Driver (FT, Seasonal) Construction or Maintenance.

Help Build a Living Legacy. Alpha Better Landscaping is currently building in the following communities: Legacy, Wolf Willow, Seton, Cornerstone, Livingston, Carrington, Evanston, Rockland Park, Watermark, Haskayne (Bearspaw), Heartland (Cochrane) South shores, Waterford, Chelsea (Chestermere).

Laborers are responsible for the day-to-day duties of landscaping as directed by the Field Supervisor / Foreperson. This is a seasonal position from April to Nov, winter snow removal positions may be available.

Construction Laborer/Driver:

1. Digging holes, planting and staking trees/shrubs in residential communities, parks, boulevards, and public areas according to specifications.
2. Prepping top soil for loam and sod installation.
3. Seeding.
4. Mulching flowerbeds and trees.
5. Laying patio pavers.
6. Installing rain gardens and dry creek beds.
7. Installing rubber crumbs for playgrounds.
8. Installation of playground equipment, pergolas, and site furniture (picnic tables, benches, etc).
9. Installing rock retaining walls.
10. Potential to be trained as a Skid Steer Operator.

Maintenance Laborer:

1. Weeding, pruning, and trimming trees and plants.
2. Cutting and raking grass.
3. Removing litter and garbage.
4. Lay sod or seed lawns.
5. Plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs, and trees.
6. Apply fertilizers, water lawns, and water gardens.
7. Clear snow manually or use snow removal equipment.

Abilities:

1. Use, repair, and maintain applicable equipment.
2. Ability to push, pull, and lift the weight of up to 50 lbs.
3. Ability to communicate with Foreman and other crew members.
4. Ability to multi-task and prioritize in order to meet tight deadlines.
5. Ability to work independently or in small teams with minimal supervision.
6. Good hand-eye coordination.
7. Physical dexterity to handle prolonged sitting, standing, kneeling, or walking.
8. Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to follow directions.
9. Reliable, punctual, and a team player.
10. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

1. Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
2. MUST possess a CLEAN driver abstract with a minimum of 2 years driving experience. (Ability to drive a truck with a trailer is considered an asset.)
3. Must be able and willing to work 8 - 12 hour days Monday to Saturday.
4. Must have steel-toed boots (8" ankle support).
5. We offer competitive wages as well as overtime after 8 hours per day and 44 hours per week.
