Mission

1. Take samples and analyse oil, chemicals, water and other substances as necessary for the safe and efficient management of the plant and reporting.

Tasks

1. Ensures that all activities within his area of responsibilities are done in full compliance with the HSE requirements.
2. Identifies and controls hazards to avoid damage to equipment, personnel and the environment.
3. Executes samples analysis following analytical plan methods.
4. Provides support to operational staff, as required.
5. Maintains and calibrates laboratory equipment according to manufacturer instructions.
6. Prepares daily/weekly analytical reports as per project requirement.
7. Takes samples of crude oil, gas, glycol and carries out analysis of produced water, injection water.
8. Ensures correct and safe transportation for hydrocarbon samples.
9. Ensures sample points are correctly installed (earth bond lead).
10. Ensures all equipment used for analysis is correctly calibrated.
11. Provides log and report writing as required, maintaining laboratory equipment stocks at required levels.
12. Handles and stores chemicals in a safe manner.
13. Be aware of COSHH regulations.
14. Advises and assists in the provision of information interpretation of data and the assessment of hazardous substances.
15. Operates the chemical injection pumps, ensuring optimum rates.
16. Has understanding of process systems or is willing to train.
17. Maintains good housekeeping within work areas.
18. Ensures compliance with Permit to Work system, isolation standards.
19. Is aware of roles and responsibilities with regard to emergency response.
