A leading mining company in Brazil is seeking a passionate Junior Drill & Blast Engineer. You will be responsible for supporting drilling and blasting operations, ensuring safety and quality standards. Ideal candidates will hold a relevant Bachelor's degree and possess strong communication skills, along with a willingness to learn and adapt. This role offers a 14-day on/7-day off rotational schedule in Brokopondo.

Qualificações

• Recent graduate with at least one year of relevant experience.
• Prior internship or practical experience in mining or heavy industry preferred.
• Fluency in English; Dutch is an asset.

We are seeking Junior Drill & Blast Engineers to join our Mine Technical Services department at Rosebel Gold Mines.In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all drilling and blasting activities meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Assist in the preparation and implementation of mine plans and schedules.

• Participating in the collaborative design of drill and blast plans

• Inspectingand testing materials used in drilling and blasting operations

• Monitoring and evaluating drilling and blasting processes to ensure compliance with regulations

• Collecting and analyzing data and preparing reports on quality control findings

• Collaborating with the operations team to implement improvements in quality control procedures

• Conducting regular audits to identify areas for quality enhancement.

• Support mining operations and ensure adherence to safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Geosciences, Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related field.

• Recent graduate with at least one year of experience in the mining or relevant industry.

• Prior internship or practical experience in mining or heavy industrial environment.

• Technical knowledge: Basic understanding of mining, drilling, blasting, engineering principles, safety, and environmental regulations.

• Software skills: Basic knowledge of mine design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Surpac, MineSight) and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; fluent in English, Dutch is an asset.

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.

• Willingness to work on a 14-day on/7-day off rotational schedule in Brokopondo.
