Junior Cybersecurity Operations Engineer – B2B CONTRACT

We are looking for a Junior Cybersecurity Operations Engineer to join a multinational open-source software company offering 100% remote work within South America.

The role involves supporting day-to-day security operations, assisting in threat detection & response, and contributing to maintaining a secure IT landscape.

As a Junior Cybersecurity Operations Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

1. Monitoring security alerts from sources such as SIEM, firewalls, and endpoint tools.
2. Assisting in detecting and responding to security incidents.
3. Supporting vulnerability scanning and remediation efforts.
4. Participating in threat intelligence analysis.
5. Maintaining security documentation, reports, and activity logs.
6. Promoting adherence to security policies and supporting internal training initiatives.
7. Collaborating with IT and security teams to strengthen organizational cybersecurity.
8. Staying informed on emerging threats and security trends.

As a Junior Cybersecurity Operations Engineer, your skills should include:

1. A degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
2. Previous experience in a cybersecurity-related position.
3. Understanding of key security principles, including malware, networks, and incident response.
4. Familiarity with tools like SIEM systems, endpoint protection, and vulnerability scanners.
5. Solid foundation in networking (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, etc.).
6. Strong Linux skills; knowledge of Windows and macOS.
7. Scripting experience (Bash, Python).
8. Analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities.
