As a Java Backend Software Engineer, you'll contribute significantly to the infrastructure, performance, and observability of reporting systems by collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. This role is crucial in shaping the data quality stakeholders receive within the company and its clients, supporting critical decision-making.

Responsibilities and Duties

1. Understand a broad range of Software Engineering, Web Development, and Business Intelligence concepts and their applicability.
2. Digest requirements from the product team and research potential solutions, presenting options effectively.
3. Develop new features and participate in the complete cycle of development, including requirements gathering, development, and testing.
4. Discuss trade-offs of different design approaches through detailed design documents or verbal communication in meetings with stakeholders.
5. Participate in technical discussions with stakeholders.
6. Experience with Java and Spring Boot.
7. Experience with TDD, including writing Unit and Integration tests.
8. Experience with Relational and Document-based databases.
9. Experience with AWS and Serverless Architecture.
10. Experience working with Agile teams.

Highly Desirable Skills

1. Knowledge or experience with Unit testing frameworks.
2. Experience with Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP).
3. Knowledge of or experience with AWS services like Step Functions, API Gateway, SQS, SNS.
4. Knowledge of or experience with Snowflake.
5. Familiarity with Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).
6. Experience with Jenkins.
7. Knowledge of or experience with databases such as Postgres, MariaDB, MySQL, OracleDB.
8. Knowledge of or experience with Informatica software (e.g., Informatica MDM, PowerCenter).
