As a Java Backend Software Engineer, you'll contribute to the infrastructure, performance, and observability of reporting systems by collaborating with cross-functional teams. This role is crucial in shaping data quality for stakeholders within the company and its clients, supporting critical decision-making processes.

Responsibilities and Duties

1. Understand a broad range of Software Engineering concepts and their applicability;
2. Understand a broad range of Web Development concepts and their applicability;
3. Understand a broad range of Business Intelligence concepts and their applicability;
4. Digest requirements from the product team and research potential solutions;
5. Develop new features;
6. Discuss trade-offs of different design approaches through detailed design documents or verbal communication in meetings;
7. Participate in the full development cycle: requirements gathering, development, testing;
8. Engage in technical discussions with stakeholders;
9. Experience with Java and Spring Boot;
10. Experience with TDD, writing unit and integration tests;
11. Experience with relational and document-based databases;
12. Experience with AWS;
13. Experience working with Agile teams;
14. Experience with serverless architecture.

Highly Desirable Skills

1. Knowledge or experience with unit testing;
2. Knowledge or experience with Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP);
3. Knowledge or experience with AWS services such as Step Functions, API Gateway, SQS, SNS;
4. Knowledge or experience with Snowflake;
5. Knowledge or experience with Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket);
6. Knowledge or experience with Jenkins;
7. Knowledge or experience with databases like Postgres, MariaDB, MySQL, OracleDB;
8. Knowledge or experience with Informatica software such as Informatica MDM and PowerCenter.
