As a Java Backend Software Engineer, you'll contribute significantly to the infrastructure, performance, and observability of reporting systems by collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. This role is crucial in shaping data quality for stakeholders within the company and its clients, supporting critical decision-making.

Responsibilities and Duties

1. Understand a broad range of Software Engineering, Web Development, and Business Intelligence concepts and their applicability.
2. Digest requirements from the product team and research potential solutions, presenting options effectively.
3. Develop new features and participate in the full development cycle, including requirements gathering, development, and testing.
4. Discuss trade-offs of different design approaches through detailed design documents or verbal communication with stakeholders.
5. Engage in technical discussions with stakeholders.
6. Have experience with Java and Spring Boot.
7. Possess experience with TDD, writing unit and integration tests comfortably.
8. Be familiar with relational and document-based databases.
9. Have experience with AWS and working within Agile teams.
10. Experience with serverless architecture is a plus.

Highly Desirable Skills

1. Knowledge or experience with unit testing frameworks.
2. Familiarity with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP).
3. Experience with AWS services such as Step Functions, API Gateway, SQS, SNS.
4. Knowledge of Snowflake, Atlassian products, Jenkins, and various relational databases like Postgres, MariaDB, MySQL, OracleDB.
5. Experience with Informatica tools like Informatica MDM and PowerCenter is a plus.
