As a Java Backend Software Engineer, you'll contribute significantly to the infrastructure, performance, and observability of reporting systems by collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. This role is crucial in shaping the data quality that stakeholders within the company and its clients rely on for critical decision-making.

Responsibilities and Duties

1. Understand a broad range of Software Engineering concepts and their applicability.
2. Understand a broad range of Web Development concepts and their applicability.
3. Understand a broad range of Business Intelligence concepts and their applicability.
4. Digest requirements from the product team and research and present options for potential solutions.
5. Develop new features.
6. Discuss trade-offs of different design approaches by elaborating detailed design documents or verbally in meetings with stakeholders.
7. Participate in the complete development cycle from requirements gathering to testing.
8. Engage in technical discussions with stakeholders.
9. Experience with Java and Spring Boot.
10. Experience with TDD, capable of writing Unit and Integration tests.
11. Experience with Relational and Document-based databases.
12. Experience with AWS.
13. Experience working with Agile teams.
14. Experience with Serverless Architecture.

Highly Desirable Skills

1. Knowledge of or experience with unit testing frameworks.
2. Knowledge of or experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP, etc.).
3. Knowledge of or experience with AWS services such as Step Functions, API Gateway, SQS, SNS.
4. Knowledge of or experience with Snowflake.
5. Knowledge of or experience with Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).
6. Knowledge of or experience with Jenkins.
7. Knowledge of or experience with databases like Postgres, MariaDB, MySQL, OracleDB.
8. Knowledge of or experience with Informatica software (e.g., Informatica MDM, PowerCenter).
