About the opportunity:

1. Outlier is looking for talented writers with fluency in Japanese to help train generative artificial intelligence models.
2. This freelance opportunity is remote and offers flexible hours, allowing you to work whenever is best for you.
3. Your tasks will include reading Japanese text to rank responses produced by an AI, writing short stories in Japanese on given topics, and assessing the factual accuracy of AI-generated Japanese texts.

Examples of desirable expertise:

1. Experience as a professional translator.
2. Enrollment in or completion of an undergraduate program in a humanities or related writing field.
3. Enrollment in or completion of a graduate program in creative writing.

Payment:

1. Core project work pays an average of USD $31.00 per hour for Japanese writing experts.
2. Rates vary based on expertise, skills, location, project needs, and other factors. Higher rates may be offered to PhDs. Lower rates may apply during onboarding or overtime phases. Some projects include incentive payments. Please review payment terms for each project.
