About the Role
The IT Economics Manager sits within the Technology Office at Allianz Benelux and leads the financial governance, planning, and performance management of the IT portfolio. Working as a financial business partner to Technology, Finance, and Business stakeholders, you will ensure that IT investments, operating costs, and expenditures are transparent, controlled, and aligned with strategic priorities. The role focuses on Running the Company (RtC) costs, financial planning, target setting, cost allocation, and variance analysis. You will provide insights and recommendations to the COO, CIO, Business Owners, and other senior stakeholders to support decision-making, cost transparency, benefit realization, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning for IT Run portfolios.
- Manage multi-year IT financial plans, including CAPEX and OPEX projections.
- Coordinate budget submissions with Allianz Technology, local IT teams, and Finance stakeholders.
- Support plan dialogue cycles and strategic portfolio planning.
- Monitor budget utilization, investigate variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Analyze IT spending across applications, infrastructure, licenses, vendors, projects, and shared services.
- Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, dashboards, and executive committee presentations.
- Ensure compliance with Allianz Group IT Taxonomy and financial reporting standards.
- Develop financial insights and KPIs to support data-driven decisions.
- Improve cost transparency across business units, value chains, applications, and service domains.
- Identify, quantify, and track IT cost-saving initiatives.
- Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, strategic IT plans, cost management reports, and steering board presentations.
- Develop cost allocation models and Running the Company cost analyses.
Required Skills
- At least 10 years of experience in Controlling, Finance, IT, Operations, or consulting.
- Strong academic background in IT, Economics, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Extensive expertise in financial controlling, planning, budgeting, and operational steering.
- Good understanding of the insurance industry, IT landscapes, and large-scale transformation or implementation programmes.
- Experience engaging with C-level executives and senior stakeholders in an international environment.
- Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to translate financial insights into clear business messages.
- Proactive, collaborative, improvement-oriented approach.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in financial services.
- Experience with SAP Integrated Planning, ServiceNow, and Power BI.
