What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
- Oversee coding operations and ensure adequate resources and staffing for consistent coverage
- Monitor coding quality and compliance with corporate standards and regulations
- Collaborate with corporate and facility leadership to enhance operational performance
- Participate in business development activities and contribute to strategic planning
- Stay updated on healthcare regulatory standards and promote ongoing education for coding staff
What is Required (Qualifications)
- Minimum of seven (7) years of recent experience in Health Information Management (HIM) and/or coding leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or a relevant field, or 10 years in a comparable position
- Current Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Management (RHIA) certification
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- High-level knowledge of coding processes and standards
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience managing large coding teams in complex multi-hospital systems
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credential
- Competency in all facets of coding related to inpatient, outpatient, emergency department, and professional fee services
