Responsibilities
  • Perform inpatient facility coding audits according to scope of work, ensuring accurate assignment of codes
  • Provide clear rationale for identified changes, including documentation references
  • Stay current with regulatory changes affecting coding practices
  • Organize and prioritize multiple cases to ensure optimal workflow and turnaround time
  • Educate coders through the auditing process, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of facility inpatient coding experience and/or auditing
  • CCS (preferred), RHIA or RHIT preferred
  • Maintain a 95% DRG accuracy rate
  • Experience with various software including Epic, Cerner, and other prevalent EMRs
  • Strong organizational, teamwork, and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Evaluator experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with client auditing tools for reviewing records and updating coding for billing
