The analyst will collaborate with various companies and stakeholders to deliver objective evaluations and support the ongoing enhancement of ESG practices.

Genashtim was founded in 2008 with the purpose of providing sustainable, meaningful and gainful employment for PWDs and the marginalized communities. We are a social for-profit organization that operates primarily on this purpose and have now taken on multiple roles in the global ESG space. We currently have 100 Independent Verification Analyst situated globally, providing verification services for B Lab Global, to certify companies to be “certified B Corps”. We are now expanding our pool of Independent Verification Analyst and are seeking applications from qualified candidates to be considered for this role.

Job Title: Independent Verification Analyst (IVA)

Job Summary:

The IVA role is tasked with performing independent assessments and verifications of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) data and reports. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of ESG disclosures with established standards and regulations. The analyst will collaborate with various companies and stakeholders to deliver objective evaluations and support the ongoing enhancement of ESG practices.

This is a remote position, open to full-time applicants, with a focus on supporting inclusivity for mobility-challenged individuals or persons with disabilities and person from marginalized communities.

Primary Responsibilities

Assist companies in completing the certification process (85%)

  • ESG Assessment Review: Accurately analyse and review companies' ESG and social/environmental performance data and documentation. Validate assessment responses using the ESG assessment platform, supporting documentation, and site review processes

2.Stakeholder Engagement:

Act as the primary contact for companies, including CEOs, founders, or sustainability project managers, throughout the certification or recertification process. Communicate standards, timelines, and certification requirements effectively and professionally.

3.Customer Service:

Provide quality support, guiding companies through the ESG certification process, including compliance with legal frameworks. Guide companies through the B Corp Legal Framework and legal requirement for certification Offer actionable suggestions for improving companies' ESG impact, when applicable.

  • Project Management: Manage account pipeline and project timelines for 20+ companies simultaneously in the certification process. Provide concrete suggestions for companies to improve their ESG impact, when applicable
  • Technical Support: Deliver basic technical assistance to companies using ESG assessment tools and BIA platforms. Drafts proposals for recommendations
  • Real-time Updates: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in platforms such as Salesforce and the ESG assessment app

Contribute to improvements that advance the B Lab Global (15% of Role)

  • Provide constructive feedback to improve certification processes and standards
  • Contribute to research initiatives for standards development
  • Represent the organization at conferences and industry events
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and collaborative initiatives with global teams

Qualifications and experiences:

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in business, preferably in Sustainability, Social Sciences or Environmental Studies
  • 2-3 years in a professional role with external-facing responsibilities, such as business development or public relations. Preference will be given to candidates in roles related to ESG and sustainability

Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Technological adeptness, with experience in platforms like Slack, Salesforce, Google Suite, and Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of cross-cultural communication skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English. In addition, preference will be given to candidates fluent in Italian and French.
  • Have strong critical thinking skills.

  • Passion about educating businesses to be more socially responsible to manage their impact with as much rigor as their profits

While not required, please note in your application if you have:

  • Experience working with or in different global contexts
  • Customer service experience, including the ability to lead and influence

others.

  • Experience working with or studying other accreditation programs
  • Data analysis experience
  • Expertise in the following industries or business topics: Renewable energy; Corporate law; Ownership (e.g. worker ownership, cooperatives); Healthcare; Supply chain (including Fair Trade); The gig economy; Poverty (alleviation, progress out of poverty measurement); manufacturing, industrial engineering, biology/chemistry; onsite auditing

PC Requirements:

For this position to be able to work 100% remotely, mandatory PC specifications must be adhered to for your application to be fully processed.   • Storage:500 GB or higher SSD for Dual Boot, 256 GB or more for Dual Accounts
  • Microsoft Office 2013/2016 installed
  • Stable internet connection (at least 20mbps for download speed & 5mbps upload, with a ping of not higher than 50ms) Mobile data and power backup is a must
