Descrição da oferta de emprego

We are Nacar.
A solution-first creative partner helping ambitious organizations shape and deliver the right products, services and experiences — with clarity, rigor and creative excellence.

Rooted in Palo Alto, Barcelona, and with studios in Bilbao, Guadalajara, Porto Alegre and China, we're a global team of 130+ Nacarians from more than 23 nationalities. This role will be based in our Porto Alegre studio.

Twenty years, 70 design awards and 10+ client ecosystems later, we've learned that creativity is only worth something when it turns into real solutions. That's why we work in a way that connects craft with systems — building things that don't just look right, but perform, scale and measurable value for our clients.

A Nacarian is a creative orchestrator, shaped by Criteria, Adaptability and Ownership. Someone who reads complexity, anticipates what matters, and moves fast with intent. We come from different disciplines — strategy, research, industrial and digital design, brand, service, engineering — but we share the belief that great ideas only matter when they become real.

Nacar is entering a new chapter. We're strengthening our capabilities, growing into new markets, and building the organization that will shape what's next. With a hybrid work model and flexible hours, we're powered by a culture of communication, collaboration and ownership — with the ambition of becoming the trusted creative decision partner for the leaders redefining the future of their industries.

If you're excited by building — not just joining — this is a great moment to be here.

Is this something you feel identified with?

We're currently looking for a Human Factors Engineer to join our Porto Alegre studio. In this role, you will apply Human Factors Engineering (HFE) principles to the development of cutting-edge medical devices, diagnostic systems, and healthcare services for global leaders in the industry.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams and UX/UI designers, ensuring that complex clinical solutions—ranging from laboratory analyzers to Point of Care devices—are safe, effective, intuitive, and compliant with international usability standards

What will your day to day be like?
  • Usability Requirements & Analysis: Identify, verify, and validate user groups, clinical tasks, hazard-related use scenarios, and usability risks.

  • Usability Testing & Studies: Plan, execute, and report on both formative and summative usability studies, working independently or alongside external agencies.

  • Regulatory Compliance & Files: Create, maintain, and review Usability Engineering Files (UEF) in accordance with IEC 62366 and current FDA Human Factors Guidance.

  • Risk Management Support: Collaborate on risk analysis activities under ISO 14971, integrating usability findings into risk control measures.

  • Design & Audit Support: Work alongside UX/UI teams to translate customer and regulatory requirements into solid design decisions, and support project teams during regulatory audits.

  • Mentorship & Practice: Coach and support junior designers on HFE methodologies, foster a culture of open design critique, and promote user‑centric design within projects.

What are we looking for?
  • Education: Degree (BSc) in Human Factors Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Design, Science, or a related technical field.

  • Experience: 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience applying Human Factors Engineering within the medical device, diagnostic, or regulated healthcare sectors.

  • Standards & Regulations:

    • In-depth understanding of IEC 62366 and the latest FDA Guidance on Human Factors.

    • Working knowledge of ISO 14971 (Risk Management) and IEC 62304 (Medical Device Software).

  • Domain Knowledge: Experience or interest in diagnostic and healthcare environments (e.g., Core Lab, Point of Care, Molecular Lab, Pathology).

  • Usability Research: Proven ability to organize and run usability studies (formative and summative) with healthcare professionals or laboratory personnel.

  • Mindset & Soft Skills:

    • Ability to work autonomously with minimal guidance while managing time in complex, changing environments.

    • Strong communication skills to present human factors principles clearly to multidisciplinary teams.

    • Willingness to mentor team members and give/receive constructive design feedback.

  • Languages: Professional working proficiency in English (required for global projects).

Why should you join?

This is a unique opportunity for someone looking for a challenge in the human factors engineering area and to be part of a center of innovation that is impacting clients all over the world — joining our growing Porto Alegre studio and working on high‑impact pharmaceutical and medical device projects.
