What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Analyze and code complex medical cases, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards

- Compose provider query notifications using appropriate language and documentation references
- Identify trends and problems in medical documentation and recommend solutions
- Assist with billing and documentation inquiries and work on special coding projects as needed

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 1 year of inpatient coding experience and a Coding Certificate (CCS, RHIT, RHIA, or CIC); or a Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management (HIM) with a Coding Certificate; or an Associate's degree in HIM with a Coding Certificate
- Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Experience in reviewing provider documentation and assigning appropriate ICD10-CM, PCS, and CPT codes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a HIPAA-compliant environment with high-speed internet

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with Optum Enterprise Computer Assisted Coding, Cerner, and Centricity platforms
- Prior inpatient coding experience
