Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your comprehensive legal and contract management expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative teammates.

You’ll provide pivotal legal and contractual support, ensuring Alstom's commitments carry acceptable levels of risk. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as Operations, Finance, and Compliance), conduct legal reviews, gap analyses, and offer legal opinions, among other vital responsibilities.

You’ll specifically handle the legal aspects of tender processes, proactive claim management on ongoing projects, and the preparation and customization of template agreements and letters. Furthermore, you will manage dispute resolutions, including litigation and arbitration within the LAM Cluster.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Sound legal advice and supervision on all tenders in the Cluster
  • Proactive legal support in claim management for projects under execution
  • Timely delivery of legal reviews, gap analyses, and other key documents
  • Management and leadership of the legal and contract management organization in the Cluster
  • Leading project contract management activities and ensuring KPIs for contract margin improvement are met
  • Handling all Corporate law, Ethics, and Compliance matters within the Cluster
  • International experience in multinational companies across Latin America, with experience in leading local and remote teams

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • A Graduate Law degree with a focus on business law and/or contracts law
  • Experience or understanding of international or comparative law (LL.M. or similar would be advantageous)
  • Knowledge of in-house or law firm experience, supplemented by about 10 years in a relevant field
  • Familiarity with contract management practices
  • A certification as a member of the Bar is ideal
  • Problem-solving abilities and excellent drafting and negotiation skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in English, Portuguese; Spanish is desirable
