Qualificações

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the marine industry, preferably 10+ in offshore oil & gas.
• Practical geotechnical experience with advanced knowledge of MWS requirements.

Airswift is recruiting a Head of Geotechnical Group to work for one of our clients in the Oil & Gas sector.

This is a permanent, full-time position based 100% on-site in Rio de Janeiro city.

Job Responsibilities

1. Oversee all geotechnical calculations and matters related to rig foundation and siting.
2. Produce Leg Penetration Assessments and foundation evaluations for Mobile Offshore Drilling Units.
3. Supervise and manage the Geotechnical Department, including engineers and administrative staff.
4. Provide technical guidance to marine surveyors regarding foundation and operational issues.
5. Ensure surveyor compliance with internal engineering and survey guidelines.
6. Represent the company in technical training sessions and client meetings as required.
7. Report directly to the Group Marine Director regarding marine survey and MWS issues.
8. Work in full alignment with the company’s QMS, HSE, and technical procedures.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree or higher is a plus).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the marine industry, with over 10 years preferred in the offshore oil & gas sector.
• Practical geotechnical experience, with advanced knowledge of MWS requirements.
• Certification from SOMWS or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills and technical writing ability in English.
• Proficient in geotechnical software and tools relevant to offshore structural analysis.
• Strong computer skills, including use of structural design and modeling software.
• Leadership experience, with the ability to effectively delegate and manage multidisciplinary teams.
