What You’ll Do:

As the Head of Finance for Brazil, you will partner with the Brazil General Manager, within the Biogen Intercontinental Region (BIR), and their leadership team in delivering the financial results, overseeing financial controls and governance, and supporting strategic decision making and resource allocation. The role is a member of both the Brazil and the BIR Finance Leadership Team’s, has two direct reports, and is operationally supported by the Global Business Services organization.

Brazil is fast growing and preparing for several launches in Rare Disease products, making commercial and business acumen critical to the role. Moreover, Brazil is known for having complex statutory and tax environments for which the job incumbent is responsible for maintaining strong internal controls. The position is the ultimate responsible for all financial matters, including USGAAP closing, local GAAP conversion, statutory reporting and audits, tax filing, etc.

What You’ll Do:

  • Deliver full P&L accountability, meeting Revenue, Contribution, and OPEX targets, while driving improvements in Working Capital.
  • Oversee the internal controls framework, fostering a culture of accountability and financial discipline in collaboration with the Global Business Services and Controllership organizations.
  • Lead financial planning exercises, including Monthly Outlooks, AOP, and LRP, providing insightful analysis on business trajectory, risks, and opportunities.
  • Support strategic decision-making and resource allocation as a member of the Brazil Leadership Team.
  • Manage products lifecycle, profitability, and new product launches.
  • Sponsor continuous improvement opportunities in internal processes and local delivery of key projects aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Identify and develop Finance talent, ensuring adherence to Biogen Culture, Values, and Policies.
  • Manage team performance, fostering an environment of growth and development.

Required Skills:

  • Advanced experience in finance in the life sciences industry.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business-related field.
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English languages.

  • Business savvy and financial acumen.
