Airswift is recruiting an Electrical/Electronic Engineer – Hardware to support R&D activities for one of our O&G clients. This is a permanent, full-time position based 100% on-site in Rio de Janeiro city.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, test, and integrate analog and digital printed circuit boards (PCBs) for downhole tools used in harsh operational environments.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams, scientists, and project managers to support the tool development lifecycle.
- Work with international development teams to ensure design consistency and integration.
- Conduct simulation and modeling of hardware designs using tools such as LTSPICE or PSPICE.
- Develop PCB layouts using CAD tools such as PADS or Altium Designer.
- Perform hands-on testing and validation using laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes, signal generators, network analyzers, and data acquisition systems.
- Utilize LabVIEW or MATLAB to develop interfaces for controlling test setups and collecting measurement data.
- Contribute to technical documentation and participate in internal design reviews.
- Actively participate in innovation and continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering group.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field (Master’s or Ph.D. is a plus).
- Proven experience in developing complex embedded hardware systems for harsh environments.
- Solid understanding of analog and digital system design: filters, amplifiers, data converters, memory interfaces, and communication protocols.
- Proficiency in electronic simulation tools and laboratory instrumentation.
- Experience with LabVIEW and/or MATLAB for data acquisition and system control.
- Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and a collaborative mindset.
- Previous experience in R&D environments is highly desirable.
- Native Portuguese and Fluent or Advanced English is required.
