Department: Technical & Infrastructure
Employment Type: Fixed Term - Full Time
Location: Brazil
FIFA has established a Local FIFA Subsidiary in Brazil to work together with FIFA Zurich to deliver the biggest women’s sporting event in the world, the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™ (“FWWC2027”) that for the first time ever, is hosted in South America in Brazil. Now is your time to be part of the workforce that is creating this unique and unforgettable experience.
The Functional Signage & Commodities Manager reports to the Dressing and Signage Senior Manager, serving as a key member of the FIFA27 Operations team in close collaboration with the Venue Management team and other stakeholders.
The FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027™ requires outstanding look and feel project to be delivered in a seamless tournament experience. The Functional Signage & Commodities Manager is responsible for leading the venue branding, look and signage operations and delivery strategy from planning through implementation to closure across all FIFA Official Sites.
This position is responsible for overseeing the collation and delivery of all functional signage and standard dressing commodity requirements across all official sites at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027™, ensuring that the look and feel is up to FIFA quality standards.
Functional Signage (alternatively known as functional area signage or FA Signage) refers to the signage that individual departments within FIFA27 require to ensure their spaces and facilities can function as required for the event. The signage can be used to designate rooms and spaces, as well as display operational necessary information and will be utilized at all official sites at FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027™. These signs can come in a variety of sizes and can be wall mounted or freestanding. These signs are fundamental to the smooth operation of the events and the requirements are collated in collaboration with the functional areas that are responsible for the room, area or space. Functional signage may also include some handheld ‘lollipop’ signage, venue maps, seat designation and functional area specific information such as QR codes.
Dressing Commodities (sometimes referred to as ‘Kit of Parts’ or ‘KOP” items) are standard dressing items that can be ordered by functional areas in order to support the delivery of their function or to enhance the look of a space they are responsible for. Dressing examples include, but are not exclusive to: freestanding backdrops, event branded table skirts and cloths, flags and banners which may also contain functional information. In addition, custom, non-KOP treatments may also be ordered if deemed necessary and within agreed service level limits.
The role will work with multiple functional areas across the FIFA27 and associated teams to successfully record all of their functional signage requirements; work with the language services team to ensure that all Functional Signage is translated to the necessary languages; work with the design team to ensure all functional signage and dressing commodities are designed and artworked to be consistent with the Signage Kit of Parts; and work with the appointed signage suppliers to ensure that all requirements are produced and delivered to all FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027™ official sites in a timely manner and to agreed deadlines.
The role requires a high attention to detail and would suit a tenacious individual who enjoys working in close collaboration with people from across the organization. The role is heavily weighed towards data collation and would suit a candidate from a project-based background, with no specific requirement for this to be within events or signage - although such experience or skills would be advantageous.
