Amazon Servicos de Varejo do Brasil Ltda. seeks an entry-level Software Development Engineer I in São Paulo to design, implement, and maintain scalable services that impact millions of customers.

• Currently enrolled in Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems.
• Completed Bachelor's or Graduate degree in specified fields (Last 24 months).
• Knowledge of at least one general-purpose programming language such as Java, Python, C++, C#, Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
• Knowledge of data structures and basic algorithm development; Object-oriented design principles.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor in Brazil geographic markets. The base pay for this full-time, permanent position ranges from BRL R$9,500 to BRL R$ 10,500 per month (in addition to Amazon Restricted Stock Units and Sign-on Payments in Year 1 and Year 2).

Key job responsibilities

Basic Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems.
• Completed Bachelor's or Graduate degree in specified fields (Last 24 months)
• Knowledge of at least one general- purpose programming language such as Java, Python, C++, C#, Go, Rust, or TypeScript
• Knowledge of one or more of the following:
• Data structures implementation; Basic algorithm development; Object-oriented design principles
• Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous technical internship(s) or demonstrated project experience
• Knowledge of one or more of the following:
• AI tools for development productivity
• Cloud platforms (preferably AWS)
• Database systems (SQL and NoSQL)
• Contributing to open-source projects
• Version control systems
• Debugging and troubleshooting complex systems
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly
• Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)

• Per Return to Office (RTO) guidance, selected candidate(s) will be required to work five days per week from Amazon corporate building in Sao Paulo.
