PulseRise Technologies LTD is seeking a founding engineer to design and build a core data platform from scratch for a fast-growing healthcare AI company in Latin America. You will own the architecture of a new lakehouse that ingests high-volume events, converts them into FHIR healthcare data, and serves hospital clients and internal analytics.

The role is hands-on, with 7+ years of experience, working with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kubernetes, and AI coding tools daily.

Qualificações

• 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience as an individual contributor shipping production code.
• Proven experience designing and building high-volume event-driven architectures or event bus patterns.
• Strong skills in TypeScript and/or Python.
• Production experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB at scale.
• Experience with large-scale, data-heavy systems handling millions of records.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English.
• Based in Latin America and comfortable with LATAM working hours and travel.
• Daily use of AI coding tools in engineering work.
• Startup or scale-up background with a practical, product-driven shipping focus.

Responsabilidades

• Design and build the company's core data platform (lakehouse) from scratch.
• Create high-volume, event-driven pipelines for incoming data.
• Convert events into FHIR-compliant healthcare data.
• Build data services and APIs for external hospital clients and internal analytics.
• Work with PostgreSQL, MongoDB and Kubernetes to keep the platform scalable and reliable.
• Gather technical requirements directly from hospital IT teams, including legacy systems.
• Make core architecture decisions and own them from design through production.
• Ship quickly in small steps and own production issues as they arise.
• Use AI coding tools to move faster and help set engineering practices as an early data-team member.

We're looking for a Founding Engineer to design and build a core data platform from scratch for a fast-growing healthcare AI company in Latin America. You'll own the architecture of a new lakehouse that takes in high-volume events, converts them into FHIR healthcare standards, and serves both external hospital clients and internal analytics. This is a true 01 role. There is no existing system to maintain, and the decisions you make will shape how the company handles data for years. You'll stay hands-on, shipping production code every day and working with millions of records across event-driven systems, PostgreSQL and MongoDB. You'll also work directly with hospital IT teams to gather requirements, so being confident with clients matters as much as technical depth. It suits a senior individual contributor who loves building, uses AI coding tools daily, and prefers practical, product-driven shipping over tech for tech's sake.

About the project:

The company is a fast-growing healthcare AI scale-up building an AI medical scribe and a set of integrations for hospitals and clinics across Latin America. Its product helps doctors spend less time on documentation by capturing and structuring clinical information automatically. As more customers use it, the company needs a data platform that can handle high event volumes and turn them into standardized healthcare data that other systems can use. That platform will power integrations with hospital systems as well as internal analytics and product decisions. The engineering culture values ownership, speed, and shipping real value to clinical customers. This is a chance to build the data foundation of a fast-moving healthtech company and directly affect how care is delivered in the region.

You have:

• 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, currently working as an individual contributor shipping production code
• Proven experience designing and building high-volume event-driven architectures or event bus patterns
• Strong skills in TypeScript and/or Python
• Production experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB at scale
• Experience with large-scale, data-heavy systems handling millions of records
• Professional fluency in both Portuguese and English
• Based in Latin America and comfortable with LATAM working hours and occasional travel
• Daily use of AI coding tools in your engineering work
• Startup or scale-up background, with a focus on practical, product-driven shipping
• Nice to have: experience with healthcare data standards such as FHIR or HL7
• Nice to have: production experience with Rust and/or Kubernetes
• Nice to have: background in solutions engineering, technical consulting, or building public APIs for developers
• Nice to have: professional fluency in Spanish
