Overview

The Pictswet in Monte Alto, Texas, is looking for experienced forklift operators to join our team. Forklift operators will drive electric-powered or propane forklifts equipped with lifting devices to move raw or finished products.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of the forklift unit and report any malfunctions.
• Position forks, lifting platforms, or other devices under, over, or around pallets, skids, bins, materials, etc., and transport loads to designated areas.
• Unload and stack loads by raising and lowering the device.
• Inventory materials in receiving areas, cool room storage, or on the work floor.
• Supply line workers with raw products as needed.
• Load or unload products onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting devices.
• Change batteries and ensure they are charged and properly handled.
• Maintain work areas clean, organized, and neat.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) before starting work.
• Follow all safety guidelines set forth by the company.
• Assist other departments as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Experience: Minimum six (6) months experience operating a forklift in an industrial setting.
• Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret safety rules/signs, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Other Requirements:
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers.
• Ability to obtain OSHA Forklift Certification.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work rotating shifts if necessary.
• Must have reliable transportation.
