Reports to: Finance Lead

Overview

We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join a fast-growing, remote-first consumer goods company in the pet industry. This is an individual contributor role focused on building and refining Excel-based financial models and analytics. You will work directly with the Finance team supporting the entire organization (sales, marketing and operations). The role is ideal for someone who enjoys getting deep into data, spotting trends, forecasting ahead and creating the tools that support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and optimize Excel-based financial models, including sales forecasting by SKU, customer, and category.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes by analyzing past performance and future trends.
• Prepare and refine custom templates to improve financial reporting and visibility.
• Conduct deep-dive analyses to inform business decisions and highlight risks or opportunities.
• Assist in financial data consolidation and participate in internal reporting discussions, including board presentations.
• Help identify and implement process improvements and best practices across financial planning effort

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or financial analysis.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, data modeling).
• Experience working with financial models (especially sales models or revenue forecasts).
• Comfortable handling large datasets and working independently on complex problems.
• Strong analytical mindset and a proactive approach to spotting discrepancies and improving models.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide insights to non-finance stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

Nice to Have

• Experience in consumer goods (CPG) or e-commerce environments.
• Familiarity with revenue modeling by SKU and category-level forecasting.
• Exposure to financial reporting under IFRS or US GAAP.
• Experience working in a remote-first team and managing asynchronous communication effectively.
• Background in financial consulting or supporting board-level reporting.
