Job summary

Guideoversea is seeking a Finance Controller to oversee accounting coordination, tax compliance, and financial reporting for its Brazil subsidiary. You will coordinate closes, review records from external firms, and prepare management reports for headquarters.

The role requires strong CPC/IFRS knowledge, SPED expertise, and ERP system experience. Excellent communication and stakeholder management are essential for liaising with tax authorities and service providers in Brazil.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• CPA (CRC registration) is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Finance Controlling or Accounting.
• Strong knowledge of Brazilian accounting standards (CPC) and tax regulations.
• Experience managing external accounting and tax service providers.
• Hands-on experience with SPED reporting and Brazilian tax compliance.
• Experience with ERP systems (Omie, SAP, Oracle, TOTVS or similar).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Job description

The Finance Controller is responsible for overseeing accounting coordination, tax compliance, financial reporting, internal controls, and external service provider management for the Brazil subsidiary. This position serves as the primary liaison between the company and external accounting firms, tax advisors, auditors, and government authorities, ensuring compliance with Brazilian accounting and tax regulations while supporting business operations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing.
• Review accounting records prepared by external accounting firms.
• Ensure timely preparation of statutory financial statements.
• Prepare management reports for headquarters.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and financial analysis.
• Monitor fixed assets, inventory valuation, and cost accounting.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and Brazilian accounting standards (CPC).

Tax Compliance

• Coordinate all Brazilian tax compliance activities, including ICMS, ICMS-ST, IPI, PIS, COFINS, IRPJ, CSLL, ISS, INSS and withholding taxes.
• Review tax calculations prepared by external accounting firms.
• Coordinate tax filings including SPED Fiscal, SPED Contributions, ECD, ECF, EFD-Reinf and other statutory obligations.
• Monitor tax risks and identify optimization opportunities.
• Support tax audits and government inspections.
• Coordinate tax incentive and special tax regime applications where applicable.
