Role Summary
We are seeking a commercially minded, qualified accountant for our Brazil office in Rio de Janeiro.This is a newly created leadership position suited for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast paced environment and who can partner with senior stakeholders and functions to drive financial performance, compliance and process excellence. This role will be primarily single-handed, with some support from group functions. The successful candidate will act as a local conduit for regulatory and tax issues, oversee day-to-day financial operations, report to group finance and support the local Managing Director in Rio as well as being a business partner to the local divisional heads.
The ideal candidate will bring solid international experience, ideally in a regulated and multi-currency setting and be comfortable navigating operational complexity with a clear focus on execution and delivery.
What you’ll be doing
- Finance leadership and control
- Oversee end-to-end finance operations for Brazil.
- Ensure integrity, accuracy and timeliness of monthly and quarterly management reporting, with clear commentary and insight.
- Develop and maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with group policies and local regulatory requirements.
- Reporting and compliance
- Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts, variance analysis and KPI reporting.
- Ensure all statutory reporting obligations are met, including annual financial statements, federal and state tax filings.
- Liaise with auditors and manage the audit process for the Brazil office.
- Support the Tax function in managing transfer pricing arrangements and ensuring compliance with international tax regulations.
- Process improvement and transformation
- Drive continuous improvement of financial processes and internal controls, including greater automation and system optimisation.
- Lead targeted initiatives to reduce time to close, improve working capital and streamline end-to-end processes.
- Promote and implement best practices across financial operations in collaboration with global finance leadership.
- Team development and collaboration
- Foster a collaborative relationship with central Finance, Operations, Legal, HR and other global stakeholders.
- Strategic projects and expansion
- Act as finance lead for strategic or ad-hoc projects related to regional growth, restructuring or system upgrades.
- Support M&A activity or new office launches from a finance operations and control perspective.

Other requirements
- Professional finance qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Experience leading financial control or financial leadership roles, including experience managing teams.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and understanding of international accounting standards.
- Demonstrated experience in leading finance functions across multiple entities and geographies.
- Comfortable operating in a multi-currency, regulated environment.
- Experience with financial systems (Workday would be an advantage).
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to influence senior leadership.
- Prior experience supporting Latin and South America or international offices.
- Familiar with tax and transfer pricing principles across jurisdictions.
- Experience in a professional services, financial services or regulated industry.
