Responsibilities

• Act as the finance business partner to support Brazil Executive team and Jefferies Global Controller & Treasurer teams to manage local finance, regulatory reporting, tax and treasury functions.
• Support accounting and financial reporting for monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with Receita Federal, Central Bank of Brazil (including CADOCs) and CVM rules.
• Perform detailed financial statement reviews, tie‑outs to supporting work papers, and provide value‑added comments for variance against budget.
• Use and manage regulatory reporting systems (such as Matera, Sisbacen, BC Correio and Siscon) to submit financial and regulatory information to the Central Bank of Brazil.
• Support local audit processes with internal/external auditors and regulators.
• Prepare working papers, schedules, analysis and other required documentation for internal and external audit processes.
• Prepare Brazil direct and indirect tax provisions with external consultant.
• Provide support for all corporate finance, treasury and tax matters in Brazil, working closely with the Jefferies Accounting Policy Group, External Reporting Group and various Product Control groups to ensure alignment on accounting standards and disclosure requirements.
• Coordinate with internal resources (Controllers group, Treasury, Tax, FP&A, etc.) to meet monthly, quarterly and annual reporting deliverables and deadlines.
• Make recommendations to Brazil leadership team and Controller group on improving operational effectiveness including financial reporting changes, taxation matters, and internal controls.
• Support local team fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree(s) in accounting, finance, or related fields.
• Qualified CRC Accountant Contador or Contador Público.
• 5+ years of Accounting/Finance experience in broker‑dealer “CVTM”/banking “BCB” & “CMN”, auditing, control, capital markets or financial services industry.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Portuguese.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, and ability to communicate at senior management level across business units.
• Self‑motivated with a focus on driving results and a strong sense of accountability.
• Demonstrated sound management and leadership experience.
• Proficiency in knowledge of broker‑dealer, banking, and tax regulations (e.g., CVM, CMN, RFB).
• Understanding of financial and non‑financial risk management of financial institutions.
