Position Summary

The Controller in Brazil for a Medical Devices company oversees financial reporting, compliance with local regulations, cost management, and financial planning specific to the healthcare and medical device sector.

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to Brazilian GAAP and IFRS, tailored to the medical device industry.
  • Oversee compliance with tax laws, medical device regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control strategies aligned with industry-specific costs (R&D, manufacturing, licensing, etc.).
  • Implement and monitor internal controls in accordance with both corporate policies and sector-specific regulations.
  • Support senior management with detailed financial insights for product launches, regulatory compliance, and market expansion.
  • Coordinate audits with external auditors, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Monitor inventory, production costs, and valuation specific to the medical device manufacturing process.
  • Lead the finance and accounting team, fostering compliance, accuracy, and efficiency.
Education / Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial controlling, preferably within the medical devices, healthcare, or pharmaceutical sectors in Brazil.
  • Strong knowledge of Brazilian accounting standards, tax legislation, and sector-specific regulations.
  • Experience with ERP systems, SAP preferred, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of inventory management in manufacturing.
  • Fluent in Portuguese; English proficiency is an advantage.
