About the role
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Field Service Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical) to join us. This is a full-time position based in the North Region, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and maintenance of our mechanical and electrical systems. You will be responsible for providing on-site technical support, conducting preventative maintenance, and resolving equipment failures to minimise downtime and maintain operational excellence. This role is essential to our commitment to delivering exceptional service to our clients and maintaining the reliability of their facilities.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate tools and testing equipment
- Perform repairs and replacements on site, following safety protocols and industry best practices
- Respond promptly to service calls and emergency breakdowns to minimise operational downtime
- Document all maintenance and repair work completed, maintaining accurate service records and reporting
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding work performed, findings, and recommendations for future maintenance
- Collaborate with the team to coordinate scheduling and resource allocation for service visits
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations whilst working in various client environments
- Provide technical advice to clients on equipment care and optimal usage
- Continuously update knowledge of new technologies and industry standards within mechanical and electrical engineering
What we're looking for
- Diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in field service, maintenance, or technical support roles involving mechanical and/or electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals
- Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical clients
- Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience in troubleshooting, repair, installation, and equipment maintenance.
- Able to read and understand electrical or technical drawings and manuals.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and able to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Able to work independently and handle on-site troubleshooting.
- Willing to travel to customer sites when required.
What we offer
- Basic salary up to $2,8k to $3,6k + Travel allowance
