At this moment, we are looking for a Java Tech Lead, this position is 100% remote and payable in USD.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Technical Lead to join our team and play a pivotal role in optimizing our big data processing pipeline. You will be responsible for leading the development and maintenance of a critical system that processes massive datasets for our client's core reporting needs. This opportunity is to work with one of our clients. They are one of the biggest Job Boards in the world with presence in over 62 countries.

Responsibilities

1. Lead the development team in designing, implementing, and maintaining a robust and scalable Java application utilizing Apache Spark.
2. Work closely with stakeholders to understand evolving data needs and integrate new data sources into the existing processing pipeline.
3. Analyze and optimize the current data processing pipeline to improve stability and reduce overall run cost.
4. Lead code reviews, mentor developers, and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
5. Collaborate with DevOps engineers to ensure seamless deployment and monitoring of the data processing pipeline on AWS EMR.
6. Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in Java, Apache Spark, and big data technologies.

Qualifications

1. Proven experience as a Java developer with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
2. In-depth knowledge of Apache Spark and its functionalities for large-scale data processing.
3. Hands-on experience with AWS EMR and its capabilities for running Spark applications.
4. Experience in designing and optimizing big data pipelines for efficiency and scalability.
5. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a data-driven approach.
6. Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and mentor a development team.
7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
