Job Description
Impact Europe is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic EU Policy & Projects Associatewith a minimum 3 years of relevant experience to join our Policy and Advocacy team in Brussels. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting our members by translating EU policy into practical insights, amplifying member voices and fostering meaningful engagement opportunities. Finally they will be contributing to the management of EU funded projects. Role & Responsibilities
1. Policy Analysis:
- Monitor and report on EU-level policy developments, funding opportunities, and legislative processes relevant to Impact Europe’s focus areas and member’s interests (e.g. social economy, sustainable finance, EU funding programmes).
- Conduct research and prepare briefings, reports, and policy papers to support evidence-based advocacy.
- Contribute to the development of Impact Europe’s policy positions and responses to public consultations.
- Translate complex policy updates into clear, actionable information for members through briefings, newsletters and presentations
- Prepare policy analyses and position papers based on member priorities, including facilitating consultation with members on key topics
- Maintain and update the policy section of Impact Europe’s website (e.g. EU Funding page, EU Policy Publications).
2. Strategic Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Support the development and management of strategic partnerships with EU institutions, Member States, civil society organizations, think tanks, and other key actors in the impact ecosystem.
- Act as a bridge between Impact Europe members and EU institutions, helping members navigate policy channels and opportunities
- Organize and coordinate interactive formats such as policy dialogues, webinars, working groups, and events that respond directly to member needs while promoting Impact Europe’s priorities and increase visibility.
- Contribute to collaborative initiatives and joint advocacy efforts in alignment with Impact Europe’s mission.
3. Advocacy and Communications:
- Contribute to the development and execution of advocacy strategies aimed at influencing EU policies and funding programmes.
- Engage with policymakers, and influencers to effectively communicate Impact Europe’s policy positions and represent member interests.
- Support the planning and execution of advocacy campaigns, workshops, and public events to raise awareness and drive policy change.Maintain and develop stakeholder contact database (Salesforce) to support member-targeted engagement and networking.
4. EU Project Management and Reporting:
- Lead the coordination, implementation, and monitoring of EU-funded projects (e.g. ESF+ EaSI, Horizon).
- Monitor project progress, monitor risks and ensure timely delivery of project activities and outputs in collaboration with internal teams and external partners, including closely working with the Business Controller to ensure coherency between the activities and the financial aspect.
- Assist in the development of project work plans, deliverables, and performance indicators aligned with project goals and EU requirements.
- Contribute to the preparation and submission of new grant applications, including budgeting, narrative writing, and partner coordination.
Skills and Qualities
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in European Studies, Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in EU policy analysis, advocacy, and project management.
- Solid understanding of EU institutions, policy-making processes, and current EU policy issues.
- Familiarity with impact investing and social economy, and/or a strong interest in the field.
- Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex information.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in other EU languages is an asset.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently, and collaborate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
