Responsibilities
  • Murex functional and technical knowledge is required
  • Develop, amend, and troubleshoot business workflows: contract, confirmations, settlements, and collateral
  • Resolve daily end-user issues on both functional and (some) technical side with respect OPS / BO processing side
  • Address day-to-day assigned tasks to complete various OPS, BO requirements, and MarkitWire requirements
  • Knowledge of Markitwire and Marginsphere is a plus
  • Build new up / down stream integration(s)
  • Convert existing integration point with Murex version change
  • Development of MxML (Workflows, Exchange)
  • XSL / Transformation
  • Scripting (bsh, ksh, .etc.)
  • Assist existing support group(s) in resolving integration related request or issues
  • Contribute to overall solutions as per project deliverables
  • Perform various levels of testing for assigned deliverables as well as participate in formal release cycles (SIT/UAT)
  • Liaise with technical team(s) -

  • to resolve environment related issues and necessary enhancements in preparation for cloud deployment

Job Overview:

Oliver Wyman is seeking a Talent Manager to manage a population of ~60 consultants across Oliver Wyman’s offices and Practices. This role will be responsible for their scheduling and performance management, and for personally engaging with the consultants in your group to know and understand their strengths, development objectives, personal preferences and career goals. You will also interact with Partners and Talent Managers in other parts of the business to assemble consulting teams and to remediate any issues.

The successful Talent Manager will be able to proactively, delicately and empathetically balance the needs of the business alongside the preferences, career goals and development needs of the consultant to deliver appropriate staffing and talent management outcomes. You will work in a tight knit team against demanding timelines to help deliver Oliver Wyman’s business model.

This is a hybrid role that requires 3 days per week in the office. There is no option to be fully remote.

Key Responsibilities:

Talent Management:

  • Use the performance management process as a basis for engaging own consultants on development needs and areas for training
  • Develop relationships with each consultant and begin to be seen as a trusted advisor
  • Assist in directing consultants towards resources for career advice
  • Assist the consultants in escalating employee relations issues or questions around general Human Capital operations
  • Monitor for work-life-quality issues and escalate when needed
  • Collaborate with Human Capital Manager on managing the pyramid, training, onboarding, performance improvement initiatives

Project Staffing:

  • Understand at a high-level the nuances of the type of work / roles being filled
  • Liaise with project team leaders to understand staffing needs in your area
  • For assigned projects, collect all relevant details from Partners and Practice Group TMs on projects to be staffed
  • Anticipate capacity issues and manage consultants' and Partner expectations accordingly
  • Communicate staffing outcomes to consultants under your TM purview in an empathetic manner
  • Track mobility issues, holidays, trainings, background checks and other ad-hoc staffing enabling tasks
  • Ensure consultant files (bio slides, project reviews, technical skills, etc) are kept current and readily available for project proposals
  • Track your consultant’s performance, skills and development needs to help guide their growth and progression within OW

Consultant Development and Performance Management:

  • Understand the performance management framework and competency model and how it applies to own consultant's situations
  • Coordinate with the Learning and Development team on appropriate training for your consultants
  • Read all performance appraisals and follow-up any issues / performance flags with project team and manager
  • Coordinate, attend and contribute to annual Career Review meetings in for own consultant populations

Data, analysis and reporting:

  • Review weekly utilization reports, cross reference with the systems to ensure latest information is captured
  • Assist with the assembly of the project pipeline and consultant availability reports
  • Help to prepare documents and exhibits for various senior leadership meetings (using Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Assist with the analysis of performance outcome results
  • Ad hoc analyses and reporting as needed
  • Demonstrate capability in using enterprise resource management tools and performance systems
  • Maintain all employee records and keep resource planning systems up to date
  • Participate in project work within and adjacent to the broader Human Capital function on topics such as employee experience, retention, flexible working, utilization, performance, etc.
  • Organize own work and display ability to guide colleagues in building project deliverables
  • Work on cross-Practice Group, Market, Regional teams to deliver special / ad-hoc assignment in a collaborative manner
