About Us

ZeroEx is scaling permanent carbon removal through enhanced rock weathering (ERW) projects in Germany, Brazil, and the United States. We license cutting-edge measurement tech that verifies every tonne sequestered, opening up the ERW industry to mining and agribusinesses ready to add an additional business model or decarbonize their core business.

Culture is the shadow of people—self-guided missiles who run on trust, ownership, and speed. If you thrive in ambiguity, lead from any seat, and care deeply about climate impact, you’ll feel at home here.

Preferred Skills
  • Geochemical modelling with PHREEQC or GWB.
  • Familiarity with carbon markets or MRV standards.
  • Strong scientific network in ERW-related disciplines.

About The Role

As our on-site ERW Scientist in Brazil, you’ll own all scientific work across current and future projects—translating global research plans into field and lab reality in Goiás. You’ll design trials, run sampling campaigns, and generate the data that underpins our MRV.

What You'll Do
  • Sampling & analysis coordination: plan, schedule, and execute soil, rock, water, and pore-water sampling across multiple sites.
  • Method development: design and refine protocols to measure silicate weathering rates and carbon fluxes.
  • Field trials: set up and oversee mesocosm and in-field experiments; iterate quickly to test new approaches.
  • Data interpretation: collaborate with ZeroEx scientists to analyse results and feed insights back into operations.
  • Networking: build relationships with Brazilian universities, labs, and regulators to accelerate ERW adoption.

Additional Responsibilities Will Include
  • Maintaining detailed SOPs and ensuring QA/QC on all samples.
  • Training field technicians on best-practice sampling methods.
  • Contributing to publications, grant proposals, and conference presentations.

What Makes ZeroEx Special?
  • Mission now, not 2050 – Each tonne removed is verified, permanent, and immediate.
  • On-ground autonomy – You’ll make real-time calls that shape ZeroEx Brazil’s scientific program.
  • Global tight-knit team – Join scientists, founders, and operators who move fast and keep egos low.
