Swile is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead its Engineering Payments team in Brazil. The role focuses on driving the execution and evolution of reliable and scalable payment solutions. You'll collaborate closely with Product, Finance, and cross-functional teams, and lead a high-performing engineering team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong software engineering background, deep expertise in payments, and the ability to navigate complex operational challenges. This role is based in São Paulo with a hybrid work model.

Mission & Key Challenges The primary mission of this role is to lead the Engineering Payments team in Brazil, accelerate execution, and establish strong authority and credibility on payments‑related topics.

What You'll Do:

As the Engineering Manager for Payments, you will play a critical role in driving the execution and evolution of our payments ecosystem in Brazil. You will lead a team of engineers while partnering closely with Product, Finance, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable, and business‑critical payment solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Driving efficient execution and delivery across the Payments domain, ensuring projects are delivered with quality, predictability, and impact.
• Acting as the primary payments subject matter expert and trusted advisor for internal stakeholders, providing technical guidance and strategic input on payment‑related initiatives.
• Strengthening collaboration between Engineering and Finance teams to improve operational efficiency, payment processes, reconciliation, and business outcomes.
• Supporting the evolution of our payments strategy, architecture, and systems to enable future growth and scalability in Brazil.
• Leading and developing a high‑performing engineering team while maintaining involvement in technical discussions, architecture decisions, and operational challenges.
• Removing blockers, improving engineering processes, and creating an environment that enables teams to execute effectively and move quickly.

Who You Are:

Technical & Functional Expertise

• Strong software engineering background with solid technical foundations and experience building scalable systems.
• Strong product mindset, with the ability to balance customer needs, business objectives, and technical considerations.
• Deep expertise in payments, including experience designing, building, and scaling payment systems and related infrastructure.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams while remaining close to technical decision‑making and architectural discussions.
• Fluent in Engilsh (C1‑C2).
