In close collaboration with the Travel Unit of the EMEA Region (Engineering, Delivery, Sales, Pre-sales, Services, and Customer Success Management), this role is responsible for coordinating budget, staffing, and delivery activities for a strategic digital transformation initiative with a key airline partner in the Middle East.

The scope covers the full spectrum of digital customer touchpoints — including prime booking, post-booking services, exchanges and refunds, self-service check-in, and disruption management — across web and mobile platforms. The initiative currently involves over 20 dedicated resources across multiple EMEA sites, alongside a local governance team based in Dubai.

The Engineering Manager will ensure the engagement of appropriate engineering expertise, capacity, and agile delivery across multiple Agile Release Trains. They will align the program execution with the customer’s strategic digital vision and maintain the expected standards of excellence and quality in all deliverables.

Additionally, the role drives continuous improvement of the Digital Lab setup, agility, and operational effectiveness in close collaboration with the Head of the Digital Lab. Success in this role means high customer satisfaction, seamless cross-functional collaboration across Amadeus teams, and the ability to translate complex business needs into sustainable digital solutions.

Main responsibilities :

  • Proficient in technical knowledge to ensure team performs at a high level. Is recognized as a leader in own area and may formally train Specialists / Senior Specialists.
  • Understands how main business drivers may impact their own area. Can assess complex problems with broad impact on the activity, improve processes, recommend solutions and risk mitigation plans. Able to communicate complex information.
  • Works with a high level of autonomy, based on management directions. Leads projects or contributes to broad cross-functional projects. May contribute to planning of resources and budget.

Specific accountabilities

  • Manage client relationship from initial contact and through scoping, analysis, diagnostic, recommendation, implementation and closing phases.
  • Analyze and capture solution elements for large cross functional changes, and other complex cross-organization, cross-functional solutions
  • Respond to the needs of the Central and / or Regional commercial organization in close collaboration with all Product Definition and Development teams of the division
  • Identify areas of repeat / common use and optimize the work of the department by documenting coherent, re-usable solution responses
  • Be accountable for providing information status to stakeholders on a regular and relevant basis at any stage of the engagement
  • Provide support and expertise to Product, Sales and Account teams in functional, technical recommendation for new solution including
  • Contribute and support in the preparation of RFI / P responses and other ad hoc customer requests. Support to sales / pre-sales efforts via customers’ needs understanding, gaps identification and product design proposition.
  • Provide recommendations for new solutions in collaboration with R&D teams
  • Analyze needs and requirements, from customer and internal sources, and propose functional / technical solution recommendations with supporting rationale
  • Support new business opportunity study when it comes to complex solution
  • Suggest / propose ways to improve customer satisfaction
  • Develop, Maintain and share solution analysis and expertise with the wider division
  • Define and execute the communication / training strategy within the team

About the ideal candidate :

Education : University degree, MBA and or equivalent work experience.

Work experience : Minimum of 5 years of previous experience in either Product Manager, Implementation Manager, Project Manager, Technical Consulting in the travel industry.

Fluent written and verbal communications in English.

Goodpresentation, consultative selling and relationship building skills.

Ability to influence and manage change across various teams and organizational levels

Good decision-making and problem-solving skills
